Mission
The mission of the White Knoll High School Counseling Program is to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and developmental counseling program that impacts each student in the academic, career and personal/social domains. Serving as student advocates, White Knoll High School counselors unite school, family, and community stakeholders to collaborate for the success of all students. This partnership creates a school climate which provides our students with the skills needed to think critically and become productive citizens and life-long learners.

Vision
The White Knoll High School Counseling and Advisement Program delivers a comprehensive
and data-driven program where each student achieves success as a collaborator and 21st
century learner. School counselors will help students to develop into productive members of
society and support them in achieving their academic, social/emotional, and career goals. The
goal of the department is for students to grow into capable and independent adults who
positively contribute to society through their self-directed and collaborative leadership.

The counselors at White Knoll High School believe:

-All students are unique and valuable and will be served by the counseling program.

-All students can learn and we recognize that they learn in different ways.

-The school and community must embrace diversity and promote the value of the individual.

-We should at all times act as the student advocate.

-In the value of collaboration.

-All students should have access to a full-time, state-certified, master’s-degree-level school counselor and a nationally certified career development facilitator to deliver the counseling program.

and that the comprehensive school counseling program should:

-Be based on goals and developmental student competencies provided by the American School Counselors Association, the South Carolina Department of Education, and Lexington County School District One.

-Be proactive.

-Consider the developmental needs of all students.

-Be planned in collaboration with all stakeholders in the school and community.

-Be data driven.
